HOLLYWOOF WEDNESDAYS!

Alright y'all. Moment of truth. It has been far too long since I last wrote a blog on my own platform. However, we're back in action and, excited to return with a BANG!

It's National Love Your Pet Day, so Sassi and I figured there's no better way to celebrate than by cuddling up and writing a new entry. I'm also celebrating by making a vow, to you and myself; we will be posting weekly blogs every Wednesday by 5:30 pm PST.

Before we get started with the new, lets review (wow, major poet and I didn't know it moment right there):

MISS HOLLYWOOF - A Day in The Life Of The Hollywood Dog Mom

& Her Co-Star Sassi

The brand was born shortly after Sassi came into my life four years ago. My iPhone camera roll was constantly bombarded with photos of us at dog-friendly spots including cafes, hotels, boutiques, and barkday parties. I quickly began to realize my Instagram was unintentionally filled with our favorite dog treat companies, the latest in pup fashion, dog mom DIY projects, and all the other fab things to do with your four-legged furiends. It was then that I realized, 'Perhaps I'm not the only Crazy Dog Lady?', and thus, the online community began.

I grew up in Houston, and later lived in New York City, where I worked professionally in Musical Theatre, TV Hosting, & Modeling. We had three dogs growing up in Texas, but it wasn't until I lived alone that I realized just how badly I needed a fur-baby of my own to fill that void. Fast forward a few years, after moving to Los Angeles, tons of volunteer work at local animal shelters, forcing friends to let me pet-sit for them, and realizing there was never going to be a more dog friendly town to start a furry-family in; I found Sassi, and life would never be the same.

Cliche as it sounds, Sassi has changed my world (...and not just by being a cute lil fluff ball that needs my constant, undivided love and attention.

LA can be a tough city, as can this era of Social Media and Generation Y. However, thanks to Sassi and this incredible community of Instagram Dogs, I have had the privileged of meeting so many incredible new friends, both human and hound.

We've hosted a Paint Your Pup Brunch, Sassi's Birthday Spooktacular at a neighborhood Pumpkin Patch, and even POOCHELLA. Yes, you read that right, Coachella for dogs, where we raised money for a local nonprofit: Rock N' Roll Animal Rescue. We can't wait to bring events like that back on a larger scale, and support the heart of it all, Animal Welfare. While I want this community to be a fun, light-hearted space that evokes a smile, It's vital to me that we also use our platform as "influencers" to shine as light on much heavier subjects, and be a voice for the voiceless.

This series shot by the incredible @DogtographerLA encouraged citizens to exercise their right to VOTE during Election Season! Pawlitician Sassi took her duty very seriously.
