On this rainy Sunday here in Hollywood, we're passing time in quarantine by reminiscing on our most recent adventure. Sassi hopes you're also practicing Social Distancing, virtual furiends! Big Bear is one of our favorite places, and this time we got to share it with his family visiting for the first time from The UK. Unforgettable Stay at Sweet Cedar Cabin!

I began planning a surprise trip for my boyfriend James' Big Three-Oh about 6 months ago. I knew I wanted to take us skiing at Snow Summit, and in trips past we had always just stayed in hotels nearby. However, if I wanted to make this a bday for the books, a generic accomodation just wasn't going to cut it. His siblings were also going to be joining us from England, and I wanted to give them the quintessential Winter 'American Dream' -

After sifting through Air BnB for 'Pet Friendly' rentals, I stumbled upon

The Ultimate Big Bear Gem - SWEET CEDAR CABIN!

The owner's Kaelyn & Frank were beyond hospitable and made our SoCal Staycation a breeze from start to finish! Prior to our stay, I had to switch the date around a couple of times due to work conflicts etc. and they were so accommodating! Kaelyn sent me reminders and travel-tips leading up to our departure & when we came upon some extra traffic due to inclement weather the day of, their keyless entry made check-in refreshingly easy.

From the moment we arrived, I was in love. But seriously, the first words out of my mouth were "Babe, I want to live here!"

Sassi sprinted up the stairs to the adorable snow-dusted patio, through the wreath decked door & made herself right at home! Us humans were welcomed with fresh, local bakery cookies & a bottle of wine (complete with a bulldog sketch on the label!)

As for Sassi, well she headed straight for the stocked dog-treat basket, of course.

If you know me, you know I am ALL about the details...and the St. Tomas Family Super Hosts did not disappoint. You can instantly feel all of the TLC they have soaked into their recently renovated home, making any visitor feel cozy & comforted. They even had an adorable doggy themed tea towel on display for us in the kitchen, Y'all.

They have created the perfect aesthetic that offers all of the modern amenities, while still paying homage to the original quirky cottage feel. Sweet Cedar is less than a mile away from the slopes & walking distance to one of the cutest cafes, Moonridge Coffee!

It is centrally located, yet perfectly tucked away for those times you just want to unplug from the world and relax. From making scrumptious meals together, to nestling up by the fireplace, playing board games til the wee hours (don't worry about bringing any, their stash is SUPREME!) ; the quality time & memories made during our stay was truly priceless.

I'm already planning a Sweet Cedar Summer Trip back for my birthday...to say I'm obsessed with this place is an understatement.
